nternational-trade service-company Andalin signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) on Aug. 19, virtually. The two parties agreed to have a physical signing of the document in September. The collaboration is aimed to boost trade and business-to-business (B2B) interaction between the Philippines and Indonesia.
“The collaboration with the Philippines is another step forward for Andalin to digitalize international trade in Southeast Asia after earlier collaboration with Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Andalin Trade enables international-trade buyers and suppliers to connect easily and safely on our platform in a more safe, transparent and efficient way. Buyers and suppliers can join Andalin Trade for free, they only need to pass a strict selection and verification system to ensure all parties can maximize the platform as much as possible,” said Andalin CEO Rifki Pratomo.
With the signing of the MoU, Andalin promised a more seamless process for Filipino industry players, particularly exporters, Andalin Trade. The new platform was recently launched during the G20/B20 Forum in Singapore to aid services provided by the company. This move enables Andalin to simplify international trade by combining all of the services on one platform, including shipping, insurance, customs clearance and more.
“The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry is aggressively pursuing partnerships with export enablers such as Andalin that can provide digital turnkey services to our exporters, from searching for potential buyers to providing shipping and payment options, and that can serve as catalysts in deepening Philippine participation in global value chains,” said Glenn G. Peñaranda, the supervising assistant secretary of DTI-EMB. The government agency is responsible for overseeing exports from the Philippines, therefore a collaboration proved to be beneficial for both parties.
The agreement is the next phase for Andalin to fulfill its grand vision to be a one-stop integrated platform that simplifies international-trade activities in Southeast Asia. In the future, it is hoped that the company can expand to Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
In addition to its Andalin Trade platform, the company earlier launched Andalin Shipping, which covers shipping routed to over 160 countries in the world. With the integration of both, exporters can operate from start to finish using its features. Andalin provides a chat box for buyers and suppliers to connect, a payment system and other operational services related to shipping as aforementioned.
To join, users can simply register on the trade.andalin.com website. They will undergo a verification process to check the legality and track record of the company. Once the verification step is done, users can directly submit a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or participate in bidding so buyers will get the best quotations from numerous suppliers.
