Morula IVF holds pregnancy, parenthood seminar for World Mental Health Day

A

s mental health plays a huge part in parenthood planning and pregnancy, Morula IVF Jakarta and klinikdrtiwi.com partnered to organize a seminar on World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10. Together with Anamasa Indonesia, they hosted a series of talks on topics such as pregnancy planning and good parenting.

There were three qualified experts approaching the various topics with a holistic approach:

  • Dr. dr. Arie A. Polim, D.MAS, MSc., SpOG (K)-FER, an obstetrician and gynecologist from Morula IVF Jakarta
  • dr. I.G.A.N Partiwi SpA, MARS, a pediatrician from RSIA Bunda Jakarta
  • Marsha Tengker., M. Sc., M. Psi., Psikolog, a psychologist from Amanasa Indonesia

“Participation and support from families are essential in supporting couples who are undergoing a pregnancy program, during pregnancy and even after giving birth. If there are conditions that need to be addressed further, we recommend going to a psychologist for better mental health treatment.” said doctor Arie.

“We hope that this will provide a better, healthier environment for the parents — and eventually for the baby —  to create a happy family,” he added.

Pregnant women are likely to experience mental health problems due to factors such as physiological changes, an increase in progesterone and unpredictable mood swings. This is especially true for parents who are struggling with infertility problems due to the stigma and judgment from families, especially from the mother’s side.

Baby blues syndrome is another phenomenon that is often caused by new, unfamiliar feelings and the fatigue a mother experiences when taking care of a baby and a household. After two weeks, professional psychological help might be needed, as it could develop into a more serious mental health condition.

Therefore, mothers-to-be will need full support from family members, especially partners. As 70 percent of problems during pregnancy are caused by mental health problems, they need help to alleviate their mental burden and carry out their pregnancy with minimal stress.

Morula IVF Indonesia has helped over 100,000 couples across Indonesia live their dream of being parents through its in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program. Morula IVF has over 23 years of experience with the latest technology and international certification and a success rate of 73 percent.

To find out more about the program, visit www.morulaivf.co.id or contact 150-483 or email contact.center@morulaivf.co.id from Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.
