itra Informatika Gemilang (MIG) officially uses green energy provided by state electricity company PT PLN after signing a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) at the Energy Transition Day event in Sofitel Bali, Nusa Dua. It was integrated into the Group of 20 Summit energy series, in which energy transition is a top priority for this year’s Indonesian presidency.

The REC is the product of a collaboration between PLN and Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA). It is proof of ownership over the production of electric power from renewable energy generators.

Previously, MIG also signed an Electricity Purchase Agreement (PJBTL) amounting to 59.8 MVA with the “Ultimate” service for a Tier 3+ Data Center in Kuningan, Jakarta. The data center is committed to using clean energy sources for all of its electricity needs.

As part of MMS Group Indonesia, the MIG Data Center is committed to supporting the formulation of integrated energy transition roadmaps as a part of the journey toward the national 2060 net-zero emission target.

“There is a need for the development of a digital ecosystem to support environmental sustainability. MIG is here to help maintain a green digital ecosystem to further sustainability goals, fight global warming and act as a bridge between the energy and information industries in Indonesia.” said MIG chief executive officer Tedy Harjanto.
