Seasalt at Alila Seminyak welcomes Hazwan Hamdan as chef de cuisine

A

lila Seminyak has welcomed Muhammad Hazwan bin Md Hamdan as the new chef de cuisine for the Seasalt Restaurant. A passionate and innovative chef who champions organic and sustainably sourced products, he is a perfect fit to lead Seasalt, Alila Seminyak’s sustainable dining destination.

From humble beginnings in the countryside of Ipoh, Malaysia, he set out to achieve his culinary dreams by starting his career in the kitchens of five-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur, including Pan Pacific and Royale Chulan. He continued his journey to fine dining establishments, namely Stella! in New Orleans.

Then he joined Hyatt Hotels & Resorts as the chef de partie in the Kuala Lumpur branch and later as chef de partie of the Doha branch.

Now utilizing his culinary experience to lead Seasalt, Chef Hazwan intends to create memorable experiences through food. By introducing new cuisine using the Nikkei concept, an exotic mix of Japanese and Peruvian cultures that blends bold and vibrant flavors with Japanese cooking methods, Chef Hazwan pushes the envelope for unique culinary fusions.

Dishes like the robata sweet corn, tuna tataki and tomato ceviche are just some of the new offerings from the Chef Hazwan-led Seasalt, and it will certainly not disappoint.
