erging Kura Kura’s passion for craft brewing using locally sourced ingredients and the talent of local artists, the brand introduces the new Coffee Stout, a complex drink that blends silky toasted outs and dark roasted malts with its packaging a canvas for collaboration with Indonesian artists.
Nearing the halfway point of 2023, Indonesian craft beer company Kura Kura is launching a new line of products to its Single Batch Series. Founded by the father-son duo Putu and Kadek Wiranatha, the craft beer company was born in Bali and launched in 2020. Taking pride in brewing a local and fresh product, Kura Kura also celebrates a slow sipping philosophy as well as unique design. The pioneer of canned Indonesian craft beer, Kura Kura’s new offering will merge the company’s passion for craft brewing with locally sourced ingredients, while also celebrating Indonesian artists through collaborations that uses the company’s cans as their canvas.
To start the new Single Batch Series, Kura Kura will release its limited edition Coffee Stout, which showcases packaging designed by Bali-based American abstract artist and calligraphy pioneer, Rostarr.
Kura Kura’s brewmaster Gary states, “Our Coffee Stout is a unique and complex drink that is a medley of silky toasted oats and nutty, dark roasted malts. Topped with organic coffee beans for a rich and smooth character, it is sure to provide a lift to your day”
Abstract artist Rostarr adds “I always felt inspired by the island and it influenced me to incorporate different concepts in my work, with new shapes and characters really adding to the arsenal of what I do. For my Kura Kura label, I used the Coffee Stout title to inspire the colors of the line work on the can. I picked six tones, ranging from dark coffee beans to milky coffee, which all infused to make the artwork. I always wanted to design a beer can, and it’s great to do it with a brand that I love. It’s a great marriage of elements.”
To welcome the upcoming summer season, Kura Kura is proud to announce the launch of its latest addition to is Single Batch series, the new limited edition Coffee Stout.
Through this new program, Kura Kura hopes to educate and entertain its customers’ curiosity regarding the art of craft beer and its brewing process. While simultaneously supporting the local Indonesian craft beer industry and artists, the brand hope to expand the community of craft beer lovers.
Founder of Kura Kura Putu Wiranatha explains that, “We started with a dream, to bring fresh, locally made slow-drinking craft beer to Bali, brewed right here on the Island. We’re very proud to launch our single batch series honoring the real craft of craft beer. This is another step toward our journey of changing Indonesia’s beer scene, through one slow sip at a time.”
Craft beer enthusiasts can already experience Kura Kura’s new Single Batch Series beers now, which are available for a limited time via Kura Kura’s direct sales channels and at selected partner outlets or retailers across Bali and Jakarta.
