T Permondalan Nasional Madani (PNM) enters its 24th year with its consistency intact in empowering and assisting ultra-micro business actors across Indonesia. The role of PNM with the business owners not only has a direct impact on their families but also on the surrounding communities. In line with one of the pillars contained in the points of sustainable development, which is economic progress and no one left behind.
Ratnasari, a PNM customer from Jakarta, is a real example of someone who has felt the positive impact after being with PNM for about three years. Of approximately 14 million PNM customers spread all over the archipelago, Ratna has succeeded in making herself the backbone of her family, as well as being a volunteer for people with disabilities.
PNM's consistency and enthusiasm in empowering and assisting ultra-micro business actors can be seen from its total disbursement in the first quarter of 2023, which amounted to Rp 19 trillion. Ratna has been assisting people with disabilities for more than seven years. Amid her busy life as a snack seller, Ratna faithfully devotes herself to continuing to meet the needs of people with disabilities who are recorded both at the Social Affairs Ministry and with her local social services.
“I help those in need, from walkers and wheelchairs to hearing aids and canes. The needs will later be recorded and then the social services will help,” said Ratna.
Ratna’s efforts and persistence have also influenced her colleagues and close relatives who are also members of the business group PNM Mekaar.
"I am the backbone of the family, I have three children, [and] Alhamdulillah [thank God] since joining PNM Mekaar, my three children can live a decent life, can receive the appropriate stages of education,” she said.
Not only that, the opportunities that Ratna gets from her hard work have paid off. In March 2023, she had the opportunity to market her products at various exhibitions, including the UMKM Bazaar and the Indonesian UMKM exhibition at the Industry Ministry.
