Commemorating world environment day, PNM opens 10 civic villages education centers

o commemorate World Environment Day, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) educates its ultra micro customers to actively participate in preserving the environment.

The education program was done simultaneously in 10 Kampung Madani locations across Indonesia from June 5 to June 7, 2023. These include: Kampung Madani Desa Negeri Katon, Lampung; Kampung Madani Desa Cinta Rakyat, Kabanjahe; Kampung Madani Desa Waru, Balikpapan; Kampung Madani Desa Koronua, Kendari; Kampung Madani Desa Tambalang, Blitar; Kampung Madani Desa Kopeng, Semarang; Kampung Madani Desa Guntur, Wonogiri; Kampung Madani Terusan, Pontianak; Kampung Madani Cibodas, Cimahi; and Kampung Madani Desa Tumpuk, Pacitan.

"Kampung Madani itself is a fostered village concept that integrates socio-economic and educational aspects by inviting customers and local communities to play an active role in managing their villages. This program is also an implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," said PNM business director, Tjatur H Priyono.

Collaborating with Pegadaian, an Ultra Micro Holdings establishment, in educational themed MengEMASkan Kampung Madani, as many as 1,000 PNM Mekaar customers are expected to gain literacy in the economic benefits of waste sorting. The education program was delivered by speakers from waste banks assisted by Forum Sahabat Emas Concerned with Indonesian Waste (FORSEPSI).

Tjatur stated that PNM's commitment was to provide not only social capital but also intellectual and social capital.

"PNM will continue to increase integration and collaboration in improving the economy through waste management. So, customers not only get business capital but also literacy that can add value to them," he explained.

PNM is a company that has distributed financing of more than Rp 24 trillion to customers (in the January to April 2023 period) committed to keep growing and inspiring by contributing support to SDGs. Other than building awareness for a clean and healthy environment, boosting the economy through the impact of waste segregation also supports SDGs goals in responsible consumption and production.
