LG Electronics Indonesia introduces two new units catering to Indonesian weather

P

T. LG Electronics Indonesia (LG) launched two new air conditioning products, the LG Multi V i and LG Multi V5 Pro II, in Jakarta on Thursday. The company revealed that the new innovations catered to medium and high-rise buildings, such as offices, schools, shopping centers, apartments and hotels.

The launch is a continuation of the previously launched LG Multi V. LG has integrated artificial intelligence (AI) features to maximize the performance and energy efficiency of its products moving forward. Moreover, LG's newest Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) solution is equipped with a series of intelligent features to provide better indoor comfort as well as quieter operation for outdoor units, exceeding the VRF of its predecessor because of its new biomimetic fan design.

"With the support of AI, Multi V i offers increased capabilities in saving energy, creating indoor air as well as better use comfort," said Lee, Tae-Jin, president of LG Electronics Indonesia. Delivering his opening speech, he reiterated the brand’s commitment to continuously deliver electronic solution to the market.

Edy Sucipto, Air Solution sales director of LG Electronics Indonesia, pointed out that in the past, as most brands were highlighting their growth in the mechanical field, LG was also prioritizing the incorporation of advanced technology in their products.

Among the new innovations is the AI Smart Care feature, which is specifically designed to provide comfort to people in spaces with mobility, while optimizing energy saving. This was made possible by utilizing spatial and situational learning. Through AI, the new cooling system can detect the number of people in the room, the humidity level and the temperature of the indoor and outdoor environment, therefore adding variables into the level of its operation. Operational optimization through this adjustment capability, in research conducted by LG, can increase energy savings by up to 24.7 percent.

.

Furthermore, AI Indoor Space Care appears as a special feature that is able to maintain a stable temperature and reduce energy consumption. With the same technology, LG Multi V i is able to turn on the indoor unit automatically in areas that are being used for activities and turn off the unit in areas where it is recognized that there is no human activity. This is also supported by its AI Energy Management, which allows users to set energy consumption targets, which can help reduce the overall power usage of the device.

"With a design that runs automatically, [these products] reduce wasted energy due to air conditioning that continues to be active even though the room is no longer productive, without the activity of the people in it," said Mike Kim, Air Solution product designer of LG Electronics Indonesia.

For more comfort, the cooling equipment also comes with a Noise Target Control. Users can set operational noise limits from 50 to 70 decibels to ensure that the sound produced by the LG Multi V i outdoor unit does not exceed the specified noise level in a given environment.

Complementing all its features, the LG Multi V i has Auto Tuning and Remote Upgrade features. The Auto Tuning system works automatically, making adjustments to the compressor and motor during the initial installation or when it requires replacement. This provides speed and convenience when setting up or maintaining. At the same time, the Remote Upgrade allows the LG Multi V i’s software to receive automatic updates without the need for a visit from an officer at the placement location. Moreover, its AI Smart Diagnosis features also assist users in operational monitoring and maintenance.

During the event, LG also spotlighted its new Multi V5 Pro II, created to cater to the Indonesian market. The unit’s cooling-only equipment to better suit the climate of Southeast Asian markets. It has been revealed that cooling units create more demand in the country, and therefore manufacturing of these products has been underway in LG’s factory in Tangerang. The new innovation will be launched in September.
