SBC Indonesia, in collaboration with All Nippon Airways (ANA), launched the HSBC-ANA Travel Fair on Thursday, offering special rates on ANA’s international routest exclusively for HSBC customers.

The three-day fair at the Laguna Atrium at Central Park Mall in West Jakarta runs until Aug. 6.

During the fair, HSBC Premier customers can book flights to Japan at exclusive prices starting from Rp 6.5 million (US$395.47). They can also take advantage of cashback promotions of up to Rp 4 million (US$263.65) for flights to Japan, the United States and Canada.

The popularity and success of the HSBC-ANA Travel Fair was evident from the many visitors who queued to sign register as new HSBC and HSBC Premier customers.

The event also featured actor Ringgo Agus Rahman and actress Sabai Morscheck, who enjoy traveling for both leisure and business, especially to Japan. Ringgo and Sabai added that they had been eagerly awaiting the HSBC-ANA promotional offerings and couldn’t wait to take advantage of the exclusive rates to holiday in Japan at the end of the year.

.

HSBC Indonesia also launched its Point Surprise program during the travel fair. Through the program, customers can trade 1 loyalty point from their HSBC credit card toward purchasing travel products from global Japanese lifestyle brand Uniqlo.

Lanny Hendra, Director of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC Indonesia, said customers who purchased tickets during the HSBC-ANA Travel Fair using their HSBC credit cards would earn 20x reward points while in their destination country.

"HSBC Indonesia is committed to continuing to innovate in providing the best service for HSBC Premier customers, which includes the three main pillars of wealth management, lifestyle and international education,” she said Lanny.

“Specifically for the lifestyle pillar, we are partnering with ANA, the number one premium airline in Japan, to provide end-to-end services from purchasing tickets to predeparture preparations and during travel," she added.

An additional benefit that Premier HSBC customers could enjoy was that ANA’s flights to the US and Canada included a stopover in Japan. This would offer high comfort for people traveling over long distances, especially with a family, Lanny said. Premier members could also make use of the complimentary airport transfer service while traveling to overseas destinations and flying back home.

Japan is among the top destinations among Indonesians, which include HSBC Premier customers. According to ANA data, around 98,000 Indonesians flew to Japan and the US in the first half of 2023, an increase of 129 percent over the same period in 2019. Meanwhile, data from Statista showed that eating Japanese food, shopping and taking in the sights were common activities among Indonesian visitors to Japan.
