T PNM, through its Pati branch, organized a Grand Business Capacity Development event for 1,000 customers of its Jepara branch on the morning of Sept. 2. The event also served as a networking opportunity for women engaged in ultra-micro businesses who have been nurtured by PNM.
Titled "Implementing Prosperous Families for an Independent Economy in Kartini's Land," held at the Pantai Bandengan meeting hall, it represented PNM's commitment to uplift ultra-micro customers.
As a non-bank financial services company, PNM focuses on empowering customers through financing and support. Empowerment is directed toward improving the well-being of customers, particularly in economic development, which creates a multiplier effect on social and environmental development. This includes financial literacy and financial inclusion.
Customers received training in financial literacy from BRI and Pegadaian, both of which are part of the Ultramikro Holdings group.
Customers were taught how to manage their finances for saving and opening accounts. Moreover, all participants were assisted in obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB). One hundred group leaders were designated as Brilink Mekaar agents to earn additional income, and 650 customers had gold savings accounts opened for them.
The event was attended by PNM Pati branch leader Leonardus Yosi T Himawan, economic and development assistant to the Jepara Regency secretary Hery Yulianto, and PNM company secretary L. Dodot Patria Ary.
Deputy director of OJK Jateng DIY Tias Retnani, micro business manager at BRI Jepara Elynawati, deputy business manager at RO Pati Agus Tri Hartono and Pegadaian Jepara branch leader Budi Utomo also enlivened the Grand Business Capacity Development event.
"PNM's commitment to contributing to global development to help achieve SDGs is evident. Therefore, we continue to expand the pillars of economic, social and environmental development to PNM Mekaar customers," said L. Dodot.
The event not only provided financial literacy but also featured an exhibition of PNM customer-owned MSMEs. Several MSMEs showcased their products, including handmade bags, batik fabrics and culinary delights.
