MEs affiliated with PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) showcased their premium products at the largest craft exhibition in Southeast Asia, the International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT), at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta from Oct. 4 to 8.
The event was officially opened by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who expressed his admiration for the increasingly captivating range of products each year, stating, "I can see that the Inacraft exhibition has been improving year by year and becoming more attractive because its brand is well-known to all of us. Inacraft is one of the largest craft product exhibitions in Southeast Asia," he added.
Together with the best SMEs affiliated with state-owned enterprises (SOEs), PNM was one of the 10 BUMNs presenting their finest products. The SOEs minister, through his special staff member Arya Sinulingga, said the participation of SMEs affiliated with BUMNs aimed to enable entrepreneurs to compete independently on the global market.
Flown in from Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Muliani was one of the partner SMEs affiliated with PNM participating in this event. Her products feature the uniqueness of woven rattan craftsmanship, including various items like bags, decorative lights, trays and more. She began her business in 2020 with the support of a loan and mentoring from Mekaar, and her business revenue has been steadily increasing.
As per the expectations of the State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, the exhibition was envisioned as a gateway for local SMEs to capture the export market. The presence of partner SMEs affiliated with PNM at this prestigious event is hoped to open doors to the international market.
"I am proud to be one of the customers invited to participate in Inacraft. This makes me optimistic about the opportunity to reach a broader market, especially with PNM's guidance," said Muliani.
In summary, PNM works toward empowering its customers through financing and mentoring. Financing and mentoring are two sides of the same coin that should not be separated from each other. Market expansion is the result of PNM's ongoing guidance to its affiliated customers, and this guidance doesn't only provide managerial improvements but also helps customers expand their markets.
This market expansion will continue not only through exhibitions but will also be extended in the future by promoting products on a large scale within the domestic market through PNM's customer ecosystem, which currently comprises 14.8 million customers. In the near future, the market for products from affiliated customers will be PNM's customer market. To facilitate transactions, a digital market has already been initiated within PNM's customer ecosystem.
