n Dec. 8, 2023, J Resources has once again received recognition for its community development and empowerment performance. After having been awarded the Subroto Award for its cocoa program, this time its two subsidiaries, PT J Resources Bolaang Mongondow (PT JRBM) and PT Arafura Surya Alam (PT ASA), received the Mining Community Welfare (Tamasya) Award 2023 from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. JRBM was awarded in the Education Performance category through the Development of Vocational Internship Programs for the Mining Community, and ASA for the Education Performance category in the form of Capacity Development to Support Workforce Readiness. These two programs demonstrate J Resources' strong commitment to sustainable development through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Recognizing the vast potential of the plantations in the 14 villages surrounding the Bakan gold mine in Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi, which includes the districts of Bolaang Mongondow and South Bolaang Mongondow, JRBM collaborated with the PKK Mothers of Moposi Village in Lolayan Subdistrict, to provide education and training on processing bananas and peanuts into hygienic and visually appealing snacks. The snacks, marketed in various regions of North Sulawesi, have successfully created and stimulated local economic activities. This program also contributes to the achievement of SDG goal 1 surrounding poverty and goal 4 surrounding quality education.

Meanwhile, although still in the construction phase, ASA is contributing to the advancement of education through the ASA Teaching program at State Vocational High School (SMK) 1 Kotabunan in East Bolaang Mongondow district. In this program involving approximately 150 students, ASA employees teach various subjects, including mining, workplace safety and the environment, accompanied by tree planting practices. This program is expected to provide an understanding of mining and inspire students, addressing the challenges of SDG goal 4, quality education.

"In line with the company's context, J Resources continues to strive for sustainable development to address the challenges of economy, social and governance [ESG] principles. The company expresses its gratitude to the mining community for its active role and cooperation in implementing joint programs that bring many benefits," said Anang Rizkani Noor, president director of JRBM and chief executive officer of ASA.
