Jokowi Commends Mekaar Customer's Product Named After Her Child

P

resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo praised the creativity of a PNM Mekaar customer from Manado while discussing a product named "Kenzhi" during his visit to the North Sulawesi provincial capital, where the President met with 3,000 PNM Mekaar customers at GOR Dua Saudara in Bitung city.

In previous events organized by PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) at a variety of locations, President Jokowi made sure to remind PNM Mekaar customers who were also mothers to maintain their entrepreneurial spirit.

"As our character is formed, our spirit is formed, our discipline is formed, [and] will continue to grow," he said.

Presenting a product with attractive packaging, Jokowi commented that the appealing brand was an example of a good product.

"The brand is Kenzhi. I asked, who is Kenzhi? 'That is my child's name, sir.' It's fine, a child's name is fine, for a trademark it's fine, this is excellent," Jokowi said, recounting his interaction with the PNM Mekaar customer who created the brand.

The President also presented two other products he deemed interesting and which displayed quality branding, from their packaging to brand names.

Jokowi added that he saw great potential for PNM Mekaar customers to compete in the free market.

PNM is an institution that focuses on financing and empowering underprivileged women in Indonesia who are active in the ultra-micro business sector.

PNM not only provides capital to help its Mekaar customers to grow their business, but also holds various training programs to help enhance the quality of their products. To date, the company has assisted 15.2 million customers across Indonesia.
