Curious about Macao travel today? Start with the ‘Experience Macao’ road show in Jakarta

T

he Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is set to host its largest tourism promotion event for the first time in Indonesia: the "Experience Macao" road show, which runs from May 9-12, 2024 in the Laguna Atrium at Central Park Mall in Grogol, West Jalarta.

Organized in collaboration with the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin and six integrated resort companies in Macao, the road show will introduce the new image of Macao as a “World Center of Tourism and Leisure” to the Indonesian public.

Macao’s leading integrated resorts participating in this event are SJM Resorts, S.A., MGM, Wynn Resorts Macau, Sands China Ltd., Galaxy Entertainment Group and Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, each highlighting the uniqueness of their establishments.

From luxurious accommodation to world-class entertainment, visitors will discover unparalleled hospitality and excitement awaiting them in Macao.

Furthermore, in collaboration with Air Macau and nine Indonesian travel agents, MGTO is dedicated to providing the best travel offers and packages to visitors through its Jakarta road show.

"With the increasing number of direct flights connecting Macao to destinations in Southeast Asia and the launch of Air Macau's direct flights between Jakarta and Macau in November 2023, the interest of Indonesian tourists in visiting Macao has rapidly increased," said Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of MGTO.

Introducing ‘Tourism +’

The Macao government is currently restructuring the relationship between tourism, play zones, MICE and other new industries to promote the development of quality tourism, support operators in developing new tourism products, drive growth in the broader tourism industry chain and deepen cross-sector integration under the "Tourism +” banner, such as Tourism + MICE, Tourism + Culture and Creativity, Tourism + E-commerce, Tourism + Sports and Tourism + Education.

"The MGTO will continue actively seeking cooperation opportunities between Macao and Indonesia, and we hope to welcome more Indonesian visitors to Macao and strengthen our relationship with the Indonesian tourism industry," said Fernandes.

Road show buzz

Centered around the theme "Experience Macao", the road show will feature the various Tourism + elements of Macao and host a number of interactive gaming zones that are engaging and fun.

In these zones, visitors will have the opportunity to virtually experience Macao's World Heritage Historic Center, landmarks, culture, gastronomy and more through advanced virtual reality (VR) headsets. Other activities on offer include the Macau Grand Prix simulator, making fireworks through interactive games and an immersive Portuguese egg tart installation.

Experience Macao will also feature a variety of stage performances with a lineup that includes Indonesian superstar Lyodra Ginting, music groups TBA and UN1TY, as well as lion dances, Portuguese folk dances, a cappella and bossa nova shows.

Visitors will have the chance to win Macao-themed souvenirs through stamp collections and interactive sessions on-site. A Grand Lucky Draw will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Jakarta time every day of the event, with the lucky winners receiving a travel package to Macao.

Anniversary offer

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, MGTO has launched the "My Treats for You" program. This program offers special travel deals for international visitors (excluding visitors from China) as well as 250,000 prizes, including special offers on plane tickets, cross-border transportation, hotel accommodation, meals, entertainment and show tickets.
