OJK Chairman Mahendra Siregar expressed hope that the BBI and BBWI movements would not be mere slogans, but be the foundation of Indonesia's future economy.

“Through integrated programs and activities, we are confident that BBI and BBWI will become the pillars of our economy in the future,” Mahendra said.

The event, held at the field of the South Sumatra Legislative Council (DPRD) in Palembang, attracted a variety of participants and exhibitors, including PNM Mekaar customers, such as Aminah and Sri Indrawati, two entrepreneurs who enlivened the event by showcasing the products their long-established businesses.

Aminah sold homemade pempek (fish cakes) at the MSME product exhibition. Known by her nickname Cek (sister) Mina, she has expanded her business significantly as a PNM Mekaar customer.

Starting out as a small business, AMina now sells her pempek beyond the provincial capital with the help of resellers. From initial production of 1-2 kilograms of fish cakes, her business now produces 22,500 pempek each day.

Amina’s hard work and perseverance also created jobs for 12 people in Palembang.

Equally impressive is another PNM Mekaar customer, Sri Indrawati, who smiled widely as she took part in the prestigious event.

Sri’s business produces salai (smoked fish), and has expanded into producing salted fish. Her business smokes 200 kg of fish in a single week for an impressive turnover. Sri is a housewife, and promotes her products through local restaurants, a clever approach that has yielded successful results.

L. Dodot Patria Ary, Corporate Secretary of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), expressed his high appreciation for Aminah and Sri in diligently in managing their businesses. He also conveyed his belief that the two women entrepreneurs would help inspire and motivate other PNM Mekaar customers.

“Women must have high initiative and a ‘never give up’ attitude. Moreover, by supporting and collaborating each other, ultramicro businesses can achieve sustainability and grow massively,” he said.
