Airlangga accompanies Prabowo to discuss OECD accession with secretary-general

The determination to adapt to global developments is a guiding principle for Indonesia.

After accompanying President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in a meeting with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) secretary-general Mathias Cormann at Bogor Palace, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto, who is also the chairman of the National Team for the Preparation and Acceleration of Indonesia's OECD Membership, proceeded to the Defense Ministry’s office to accompany Defense Minister and president-elect Prabowo Subianto at a meeting with the OECD secretary-general on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the OECD secretary-general and minister Prabowo discussed the next steps in Indonesia's OECD membership process. This follows the acceptance of Indonesia's OECD accession road map at the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris from May 2 to 3.

Indonesia’s accession road map will serve as the main guide for the country in the OECD accession process. As a testament to the OECD's commitment to supporting Indonesia's accession process, the OECD secretary-general visited Indonesia for bilateral meetings and to open the OECD accession process workshop, which will be attended by relevant ministries and agencies on Wednesday.

Minister Airlangga was accompanied at the meeting by secretary of the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister Susiwijono Moegiarso, deputy for international economic cooperation coordination Edi Prio Pambudi and assistant deputy for multilateral economic cooperation Ferry Ardianto.
