Planting trees: Taryan Group's green vision for Bali

W

ith Bali’s rapid development, the local administration is prioritizing environmentally friendly initiatives to ensure sustainable tourism and a positive impact on the environment. Taryan Group, currently developing a unique resort in the village of Seseh, Mengwi, Badung, is committed to supporting this initiative. Artur Mkhitaryan, founder and CEO of Taryan Group, hopes that the group’s presence in Bali can foster harmonious integration with the long-standing traditions and culture of Bali.

To realize this vision, Taryan Group, through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in collaboration with the local government, has launched a project to plant more than 100 areca nut trees on Seseh Beach. The choice of this initiative is not surprising, as many have affirmed that reforestation is key to balancing climate change issues.

For the project in Seseh, the first 50 trees were planted on May 23 with the participation of the local community and village officials. The remaining trees will be planted in mid-June. This environmental initiative of planting more than 100 trees in Seseh has received support from the regent's secretary of Badung. They express their hope that the entire Seseh community would benefit from this project and the ongoing tree planting activities.

Similar sentiments were also expressed by representatives of Taryan Group in Indonesia. They explained that the choice of areca nut trees was deliberate because these trees symbolized noble virtues and the openness of the local culture, truly reflecting the Balinese society. The team would continue to launch impactful social and environmental initiatives.

The Taryan Group always pursues harmony between nature and human-made structures, and the village currently in development is designed to maintain this harmony. Efforts will be made to minimize the disturbance of nature and, where possible, to enhance nature's capacity to support potential changes, both climate-related and other natural changes.

Because climate change is an international issue, Taryan Group emphasizes tree planting alongside other social and environmental initiatives aimed at nature conservation, such as beach clean-ups and improving waste management practices, waste collection and recycling to promote and implement reuse practices in the future. The selection of tree species is also based on the philosophy of the Balinese community, which is known for its deep and harmonious spirit between humans and nature.
