P

T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), through its Business Capacity Development (PKU) program, has relaunched its advanced study tour program with the theme #DiscoverNewSteps. This program focuses on recycling waste for profit.

The latest study tour took place at Sari Timbul Glass Factory in Tegallalang, Bali, from June 11-13. Sixteen Mekaar clients, top group leaders from various regions including Kalimantan, Wonogiri, Makassar, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Mojokerto, Probolinggo and Magelang, participated.

Sari Timbul Glass Factory, owned by I Gede Rediawan, a PNM-assisted client through the Micro Capital Service Unit (UlaMM) program, has successfully attracted buyers for its recycled glass crafts from various international regions. Rediawan provided PNM Mekaar clients the opportunity to showcase their products at his factory, which is frequently visited by international tourists.

“Feel free to display your products here. My hope is to jointly develop MSME products,” Rediawan stated during a training session on Wednesday at Sari Timbul Glass Factory.

PNM Denpasar branch manager Leonardus Yosi Tyas Himawan hoped the tour would be a source of new inspiration for the attendees, sparking creative ideas for developing recycling businesses.

“Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and actively participate in every activity during this study tour. We hope to bring home valuable experiences and new inspirations to apply in our respective groups,” Yosi explained.

Guided by I Gede Rediawan and Madinah, a PNM Mekaar client from the South Kuta unit, all participants created crafts from recycled glass, which they heated and reshaped into flower vases, and other crafts from chicken, duck and goose feathers formed into dream catchers.

The Study Tour program has been ongoing since 2022, benefiting over 200 clients with specialized training tailored to their respective business sectors. #DiscoverNewSteps is a new approach introduced by PNM to help clients develop their businesses in innovative ways, different from usual empowerment practices.
