Indonesian delegation explores cooperation with China Fire & Rescue in Guangzhou

n a bid to strengthen and expand the cooperative relationship between the Republic of Indonesia and the People's Republic of China, a delegation from the Home Ministry’s Directorate General of Regional Administration Development (Ditjen Bina Adwil) recently traveled to China to take part in the Guangzhou International Emergency Safety Expo (IESE).

On June 17, 2024, the Indonesian delegation met with representatives from China’s Ministry of Emergency Management, China Fire and Rescue and the Confederation of Fire Protection Association Asia (CFPA-Asia), as well as several major companies in the fire safety sector. The primary objective of this meeting was to explore the two countries’ potential collaboration in fire technology and management.

During the meeting, Mey Rany Wahida Utami, acting secretary of the Directorate General of Regional Administration Development (Ditjen Bina Adwil), highlighted the developments and challenges related to Indonesia's fire management policies, which are regulated by the Home Ministry.

"One of the strategic focuses of the ministry is to enhance regional fire services through international cooperation, particularly in improving human resources and firefighting infrastructure," Rany told the meeting.

She added that the Home Ministry also aimed to optimize regional fire services by collaborating with friendly countries, especially in capacity building and firefighting facilities.

"We hope that this warm meeting between Ditjen Bina Adwil and China Fire and Rescue will yield positive outcomes for the development of fire management in Indonesia," said Rany.
