ommonly referred to as the cultural heartbeat of Bali, Ubud has long been used as an inspiration for artists around the globe. Celebrating Ubud’s contribution to the arts, three renowned painters, Dana S, Ngurah KK and Martin Sinatra, will showcase a mesmerizing exhibition titled “Ubud Ataraxia” on July 20.
Meant to highlight the diverse beauty of the enchanting locale, the exhibition will be held at the Kelir Art Gallery within The Kayon Jungle Resort, and will present the three unique perspectives of the featured artists. Dana S specializes in impressionist landscapes, Ngurah KK recreates vibrant traditional Balinese scenes and Martin Sinarta paints abstract interpretations of Ubud.
All of their works, however, cohesively fall under the exhibition’s theme of Ataraxia, which refers to a state of serene calmness and tranquility. Through their varying styles, the roster of artists aim to evoke this sense of peace and harmony, offering visitors a glimpse of the soothing energy of Ubud.
“Ataraxia perfectly captures what I aim to portray in my work. Ubud's landscapes have a timeless, calming beauty that I want to share with the world. This exhibition is a way to showcase the serene essence of Ubud, and I hope visitors can feel the tranquility that inspires me every day," said Dana S, reflecting on the theme.
CEO of The Kayon Hotels & Resorts, I Wayan Sucitra, expressed his enthusiasm for the exhibition.
"We are thrilled to host such a remarkable exhibition that captures the true essence of Ubud. 'Ubud Ataraxia' is not just an art exhibition; it is a celebration of the tranquility and beauty that our beloved Ubud offers. We believe that through this exhibition, visitors will be able to experience the peaceful and harmonious spirit of Bali," he said.
“The Kayon Jungle Resort is honored to provide a platform for these talented artists. We invite art enthusiasts and the wider community to join us in celebrating the artistic brilliance and tranquil beauty of Ubud,” added Marketing Communications Manager of The Kayon Jungle Resort, Nadine Saskia.
