n commemoration of National Children's Day on July 23, 2024, PT Pertamina (Persero) invited Indonesian children, including the children of Pertamina Group employees, to increase their awareness of the importance of sustainability efforts. These children are involved in educating and inspiring the public through social media platforms about sustainable actions and innovations that can be implemented in their daily life.

The children’s concern for the environment is reflected in their participation in Pertamina Teens Changemakers 2024. Pertamina Teens Changemakers 2024 is a competition focused on innovation and sustainability efforts for the children of Pertamina employees. The participants’ innovative works are published on their social media accounts and on those of their parents, thus serving as a campaign for children across Indonesia to follow suit.

Pertamina Corporate Communication vice president Fadjar Djoko Santoso stated that Pertamina provides a space for the younger generation to contribute to their surrounding environment through sustainable actions or innovations.

"We start from the closest environment, namely the families of Pertamina employees. We aim to educate children to take care of nature and their surroundings from an early age to ensure sustainability in their future. We hope this culture of sustainability will be passed down from generation to generation," Fadjar stated.

Fadjar added that sustainability means meeting today's needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

"Sustainability strives to build an inclusive and sustainable future for humanity and the planet. We begin instilling this understanding from an early age," Fadjar added.

Fadjar explained that Pertamina has also identified 10 Sustainability Focuses which form the basis for the company's operation. They include addressing climate change, reducing their environmental footprint and protecting biodiversity.
