tate-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir constantly strives to improve the digital proficiency of SOE employees, as demonstrated with the latest SOE Influencer Workshop held from July 18-20, 2024 at Hotel Pesona Bamboe Lembang in Bandung, the provincial capital of West Java.
This year’s event marks the 10th installment of the workshop, which is taking to the road to reach SOE influencers nationwide. The Bandung event, which was attended by 100 potential influencers from SOEs in West Java, provided social media training, including crafting communication narratives, content creation techniques and social media management for branding.
Arya Sinulingga, special staffer to the SOEs Minister, highlighted how branding and social media management could shape a positive image and contribute to improving a company’s performance.
"The role of influencers is as agents of change. Therefore, it is important that the content SOE influencers share on social media highlights the positive work done by SOEs for the nation. This can grow brands, change perceptions and improve a company's image, thereby boosting [its] performance. It also reflects loyalty as part of the SOE's core values," Arya said.
The event, made possible by collaboration between the SOEs Ministry and Telkom Indonesia, Pertamina, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Biofarma and Pos Indonesia, also hosted several discussions.
These included a discussion on creating narratives and storytelling featuring Marchella FP, the author of Nanti Kita Cerita tentang Hari Ini (One Day We'll Talk About Today), a novel that has been adapted into Netflix drama series of the same name. Another discussion focusing on social media management and content creation featured cofounder and content creator Daniel Manihuruk and creative consultant Farhana Noer from digital marketing agency Zando.
The event also ran activities in which participants were tasked with creating content for SOE assets Biofarma Vaccine Museum and event venue Graha Pos Indonesia.
"The content produced by West Java's SOE influencers is already good and in-depth. It can then be developed further to not only communicate their work, but also address issues that concern a company, ensuring that information is conveyed clearly," Arya said.
The SOE Influencer Workshop in Bandung also encouraged influencers at SOEs across West Java to raise awareness about mental health through “1,000 People Telling Stories”, a road show organized by the ministry in collaboration with mental health advocacy platform Menjadi Manusia (becoming human).
The workshop wrapped up with a 5K morning run with members of the West Java SOE Runners group in Lembang district, West Bandung regency.
