ali Police are investigating the alleged kidnapping and murder of 28-year-old Ukrainian tourist Igor Komarov, whose dismembered body was found last week near Ketewel Beach in Gianyar regency.

Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Ariasandy said a Nigerian national, identified only as CH, has been arrested in connection with the case.

“CH rented the car used in the alleged kidnapping with a fake passport. He is currently facing charges of passport fraud, not kidnapping,” Ariasandy said on Friday.

According to Ariasandy, CH was arrested in West Nusa Tenggara province on Feb. 23, about eight days after Komarov went missing. He told authorities he had been asked to rent a car using a fake Belgian passport for Rp 6 million (US$354) and claimed he had no knowledge of the alleged kidnapping or murder.

Ariasandy said that, in addition to CH, police have identified six other foreign suspects in the case, identified only as RM, VK, AS, VN, SM, and DH.

All the suspects remain at large, with four believed to have left Indonesia via Ngurah Rai Airport and the remaining two thought to still be in the country.
