Padma Hotels celebrates 79th Indonesian Independence Day with Pesta Rakyat Padma event

n commemoration of the upcoming Indonesian Independence Day on the Aug. 17, 2024, Indonesian hotel brand Padma Hotels will host their Pesta Rakyat Padma (Padma People’s Party).

The event will take place in all Padma Hotels locations across Indonesia and will feature a roster of beloved traditional Indonesian “Tujuh Belasan” festivities. These include classic games such as a sack race, a cracker-eating contest and tug-of-war. Additionally, the event will also offer a special set of local Nusantara delicacies not usually provided on Padma’s menus.

On top of this, each Padma Hotels location has its own unique activity celebrating Indonesia’s Independence Day. Padma Resort Legian for example is hosting jamu tasting and workshop sessions alongside a penjor, a Balinese decorative bamboo pole. These activities are set to begin on Aug. 16.

The other Bali location, Padma Resort Ubud, is also due to commence their celebration on the Aug. 16, similarly offering activities focused on creativity. With arts and crafts stalls set up for the celebration offering activities such as silver making, wood carving and painting.

As for Padma Hotels’ establishments outside of Bali, Padma Hotel Bandung is celebrating the occasion by showcasing Bandung’s signature cuisine, offering guests treats like tahu susu, bajigur and pisang goreng on Aug. 17.

Taking a different approach, Padma Hotel Semarang is hosting their festivities in the hotel’s newest facility, its waterpark. Here guests will also be treated to traditional games and dishes alongside a relaxing moviegoing experience with the hotel’s open-air cinema. This location’s celebration will take place from Aug. 17 to 18.

Lastly, the Resinda Hotel Karawang will commemorate Indonesia’s independence with a slew of Indonesian street food offerings like kerak telor, batagor, kue dongkal and serabi, to name a few. The festivities will take place in the new Resinda Oasis Park facility on Aug. 18.
