IHG Hotels & Resorts puts Indonesia’s many charms on a pedestal

IHG Hotels & Resorts is enhancing the factors that make Indonesia attractive: its breathtaking nature and captivating cultures.

One of the leading hotel companies with more than 6,000 global destinations under 19 brands, IHG Hotels & Resorts aims to enhance emotional connections and broaden the country’s appeal with a new collection of hotels and brands, located in authentic destinations that invite the world to discover the diverse wonders of Indonesia.

According to the company’s recent survey on global travel trends, more people are prioritizing stays at hotels that foster a deep connection with their surroundings, which suggests that hotels play an important role in influencing and inspiring their guests to explore local areas at a much deeper level.

The immersive experience travelers crave can be delivered only by those hotels that truly understand and care about preserving the local culture, listening to authentic stories from the community around it and enhancing local voices, instead of tuning them out.

IHG Hotels & Resorts is ready to reintroduce travelers to its esteemed Regent brand’s new property in southern Bali, slated to open in late 2024: Regent Bali Canggu. Blending Balinese tradition and craftsmanship with unsurpassed luxury, the hotel will offer Canggu’s idyllic beaches like never before

Its strategic shorefront location incorporates centuries-old water temples, paying homage to the island’s heritage. In addition to the Regent Spa, the hote’s facilities include a fitness studio and hydrotherapy pool, immersing travelers in the artisanal spirit that is an essence of Balinese culture.

Meanwhile, guests traveling with their families can opt to stay at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu, another reputable establishment with a more modern design that is set against a backdrop of the breathtaking Indian Ocean. Among its 144 rooms is a selection of signature KidSuites, with a rooftop pool and bar framing seemingly endless views of the ocean as an ideal setting for sunset cocktails.

A stone’s throw from Canggu is Seminyak, another island destination that has welcomed Indonesia’s inaugural property under the voco Hotels premium brand, ushering in a new era of thoughtful, restorative hospitality. The voco Bali Seminyak has 162 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a health club and a pool, all just a few steps away from the resort area’s shopping district and sandy beaches.

On the island’s less-visited east coast, where the slopes of Mount Agung cascade down to the sea and Bali’s history comes to life amid temples and palaces is Rumah Luwih Bali, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ trademark Vignette Collection. Styled after a classical, colonial-era mansion, Rumah Luwih invites guests to explore the beauty of Gianyar at this beachfront retreat. With just 72 rooms, this luxury resort will instill a desire for discovery among its guests as they view the pristine shores and terraced rice paddies.

In Kuta, the 72-room Holiday Inn Express Bali Sunset Road caters to the needs of guests desiring a prime location, just 12 minutes' drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. With a complimentary Express Start breakfast in the all-day restaurant, a health club, a swimming pool and meeting rooms, this contemporary hotel offers a convenient base in the island province.

But Bali is not the only region where IHG Hotels & Resorts has a reigning presence. It also has a distinguished identity in the blissful Riau Islands with Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach, a lifestyle boutique hotel that is designed to reflect the rich heritage of the archipelagic province. Guests can chill out at Sugarbeats, the resort’s trendy beach club, swim in the infinity pool, partake of local flavors at the beachfront restaurant or unwind at either the Tiki or Satay bar.

Nestled on one of the 3,200 islands and islets surrounded by turquoise seas, family vacation dreams come true in the province at the Holiday Inn Resort Bintai Lagoi Beach. Featuring 258 rooms and suites, this tranquil getaway also offers family services such as KidSuites, a kids' club and playground, a swimming pool and water sports, plus an all-day restaurant with free meals for kids, along with a swim-up bar and a spa for grown-ups.

From its mountains to the seas, vacationing in Indonesia has limitless charms. High up in the volcanic hills of West Java, travelers can admire Dutch colonial architecture in the vibrant city of Bandung while discovering lively neighborhood cafés and sample what’s cooking at street food markets.

To discover Bandung’s rich culinary traditions and innovations, look no further than Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, which perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the “Paris of Java”. Situated in the stylish Dago neighborhood, the hotel’s design is influenced by the city’s culture and folklore, serving authentic Bandung coffee in the casual café and local delicacies in the restaurant. It also has two infinity pools and a rooftop bar that frames stunning views of the “City of Flowers”.

Last but not to be overlooked is the seaside province of Lampung on the southern tip of Sumatra, a gateway to a world of wonder where tigers and elephants roam the rainforests and the volcanic island of Anak Krakatau looms large in the strip of ocean between Sumatra and Java.

Discover Lampung’s natural beauty at its national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, and then unwind at the end of a day of exploration at Holiday Inn Lampung Bukit Randu, perched atop a hill in the center of the provincial capital Bandar Lampung.
