Pertamina achieves largest tax contribution among SOEs

PT Pertamina (Persero) is the largest contributor among state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in terms of tax payments throughout 2023.

SOEs Minister Erick Thohir expressed his appreciation to the 20 SOEs that contributed taxes to the country in 2023, making special reference to Pertamina, which led them with Rp 224.53 trillion (US$13.98 billion) in tax payments.

"The ongoing transformation of SOEs helps improve company performance and productivity. Alhamdulillah [thanks to God], SOEs can contribute greatly in terms of state tax payments with continuously improving performance. This result is also inseparable from the hard work of all [SOE] commissioners, directors and personnel. Thank you to those of you who continue to work to make a major contribution to Indonesia," Thohir stated on his social media accounts on Wednesday.

Pertamina corporate communication VP Fadjar Djoko Santoso said Pertamina was committed to fulfilling its obligations as an SOE through its responsibility in paying taxes to the state. The commitment is also part of the company's implementation of good corporate governance (GCG).

"This is part of Pertamina's support for the country through its commitment to paying taxes to the state, considering that taxes are an important instrument for national economic growth," Fadjar explained.

The tax award appreciation was held by the Finance Ministry’s Taxation Directorate General in commemoration of Tax Day 2024 on July 26 in Jakarta.
