ertamina Patra Niaga has adjusted the price of Pertamax, which remains the most competitive RON 92 fuel in Indonesia. The new price officially took effect at Pertamina gas stations on Aug. 10, 2024, at 00:00 local time.
The adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices by Pertamina Patra Niaga refers to the trend of the average world oil price publication or Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) and the exchange rate of the rupiah against the United States dollar.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Acting Corporate Secretary Heppy Wulansari explained that the adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices has been carried out by all business entities since the beginning of August 2024. With this adjustment, the price of Pertamax is now Rp 13,700 (86 US cents) per liter (including the 5-percent fuel tax or PBBKB).
“Like other business entities, Pertamina has also made adjustments to non-subsidized fuel prices. The adjustments are being made gradually. Other non-subsidized fuel products such as Pertamax Turbo, Pertamax Green 95 and the Dex Series were adjusted at the beginning of August,” Heppy explained.
Heppy added that Pertamina's non-subsidized fuel price adjustments always consider economic stability, so despite the rising ICP trend since the end of the first trimester, Pertamina Patra Niaga's non-subsidized fuel prices have not changed since March 2024. The prices are kept low to maintain the purchasing power of the public.
“The price determination is in accordance with the regulation of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 as an amendment to Ministerial Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 regarding the formulation of JBU or non-subsidized fuel prices. Energy ministry Ministerial Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 pertains to the formulation of prices for general fuel types. We ensure that these prices remain the most competitive for products of equivalent quality,” Heppy added.
