o ensure the distribution of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the new capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is met during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration, Pertamina Patra Niaga has formed a task force (Satgas). The task force has been in operation since Aug. 1, 2024, and will end on Aug. 31, 2024.

Pertamina Patra Niaga corporate secretary Heppy Wulansari explained that her team had taken various strategic steps to ensure smooth energy distribution.

“Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased fuel stocks at several key points around IKN, including ensuring the availability and distribution of LPG. Additionally, various supporting infrastructure, including tank trucks and storage facilities, have been prepared to anticipate a surge in demand during the celebration”, explained Heppy.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Kalimantan area communication, relation & CSR manager, Arya Yusa Dwicandra, added that Pertamina has prepared and put on alert storage facilities such as the Integrated Terminal (IT) Balikpapan, Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Sepinggan and APT Pranoto Samarinda. For Balikpapan city, there are 15 regular gas stations and two modular gas stations, while in Penajam Pasar Utara there are four regular gas stations, three mini gas stations, four Pertashops, one modular gas station, six pocket gas stations in the form of tank trucks, two packaged services, two pickup units for packaging and five motorized units.

“On this day, two units of MyPertamina gas stations have been made official to support energy distribution in the IKN area. These two gas stations have storage of 10 kiloliters (KL) each, located in Bukit Raya village, Sepaku district, Penajam Paser Utara regency and at JL. Letkol. Pol. H.M. Asnawi Arbain, Gunung Bahagia sub-district, Balikpapan,” added Arya.

Pertamina Patra Niaga in the Kalimantan region has also conducted intensive coordination with various related parties to ensure that the distribution of fuel and LPG runs smoothly. The task force is on standby 24 hours a day to ensure energy needs are met effectively.

“We have also conducted special training for field officers to enhance readiness and quick response to various potential situations. Safety and security in energy distribution are our top priorities,” added Arya.

In addition to ensuring energy availability, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also committed to preserving the environment during the event. Various green initiatives, such as the use of environmentally friendly fuels and emission reduction, have been implemented as part of the company's ongoing efforts to support sustainable development in Nusantara.

“We are proud to contribute to the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration in IKN. This is an historic moment for our nation, and we are committed to doing our best to ensure the event is successful,” concluded Arya.
