ccess to education for children with disabilities in Indonesia remains limited. On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, state-owned financial institution Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting equal opportunities for learning and development for all children.
PNM's Ruang Pintar (smart room) Jendela Ibu, located in Bogor, serves as a free non-formal education center for children with disabilities. Beyond education, the center also provides therapy sessions for children with special needs.
PNM President Director Arief Mulyadi called on all sectors of society to raise awareness and foster greater inclusivity for children with special needs. He emphasized that the establishment of Ruang Pintar Jendela Ibu marks the beginning of a more inclusive and sustainable future.
"Ruang Pintar Jendela Ibu is not just an educational platform but a testament to PNM’s commitment to ensuring that these children have opportunities to participate and integrate into various aspects of life," Arief said.
He highlighted the importance of accessibility in empowering children with disabilities, helping them build confidence and enabling them to actively contribute to society.
“PNM believes that by reducing negative stigma, we can support children with disabilities to thrive and create without limitations,” he added.
To date, PNM has established 131 Ruang Pintar across Indonesia, contributing to the nation's educational advancement.
