emakin banyak tekanan pada pemerintah untuk memulihkan seluruh layanan publik yang pekan lalu terkena dampak serangan ransomware. Program jahat yang memblokir data tersebut menyerang pusat data nasional (PDN) sementara. Pemerintah juga ditekan untuk meningkatkan keamanan infrastruktur digital negara untuk mencegah serangan siber serupa di masa depan.

Fasilitas sementara di Surabaya, Jawa Timur, terkena serangan ransomware pada 20 Juni. Kejahatan tersebut berdampak pada database milik 210 lembaga pemerintah pusat dan daerah, termasuk mengganggu proses imigrasi di bandara, juga layanan publik lainnya.

Meskipun banyak detail mengenai insiden tersebut yang belum diungkapkan, termasuk pihak yang bertanggung jawab atas serangan tersebut, Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara (BSSN) mengatakan bahwa para penyerang menggunakan varian ransomware baru. Varian ini disebut Brain Cipher, versi terbaru dari ransomware LockBit 3.0.

Tahun lalu, nama LockBit 3.0 melejit di Indonesia. Ketenaran diperoleh setelah kelompok peretas LockBit mengklaim telah menggunakan perangkat lunak berbahaya itu untuk mencuri data lebih dari 15 juta nasabah bank milik negara, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).

Ransomware memblokir akses pengguna ke sistem komputer dan sering digunakan oleh LockBit untuk memeras korbannya secara digital.

Serangan ransomware lain di masa lalu yang telah menarik perhatian nasional termasuk serangan terhadap dua rumah sakit di Jakarta, Dharmais dan Harapan Kita. Pada 2017, server dan akses data rumah sakit tersebut diblokir oleh ransomware WannaCry.
