Announced by Google Indonesia in Jakarta on Thursday, the 30-second video from Oreo Indonesia retained its position as the most-popular ad in the first half of 2016. It previously topped the same list during the July-December period last year.
“These top 10 lists are chosen based on their audience engagement,” said Google Indonesia communication head Jason Tedjakusuma.
The popularity report was not only based on the number of those who watched the video on YouTube, but also how many of them commented, shared and liked the ad.

In addition to Oreo Indonesia, Bukalapak's humorous video at the third spot was also mentioned as an ad that continued to entertain users instead of annoying them as they watched YouTube content.
Online video platform for original content creators and advertisers YouTube was acquired by Google for US$1.76 billion in 2004 after the tech giant went public.
Google officially established its representative office in Indonesia in 2012. (kes)
