ubbing is no easy process. One needs to consider many things when doing it such as differences in language and getting into the character of the person or animation you are dubbing for.
For emcee and TV host Indy Barends, who recently dubbed for Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) in the Indonesian-dubbed version of Jurassic World, it was a nice challenge.

“[All the dubbing] made my voice hoarse, I'm almost hopeless. [But then I thought to myself,] if Claire can run in high heels, why can’t I [do this job]?” Indy told The Jakarta Post on Thursday. “As a radio host, I have a message to convey and there is a different topic every day. However, in [dubbing], I become the other person’s character.”
She said she initially didn't think she would be picked for a main role. “I thought I would just be the dinosaur, T-Rex, or maybe the crackling sound of egg shells,” she said jokingly.

She said copying Claire’s breathing and doing her flirtation scenes with Owen were among her most difficult moments in dubbing. “When she was running, I actually ran [in the studio] too. And because we [she and Ben Joshua, the voice for Owen] recorded separately, it was hard for me to imagine the flirtation scene.”
When asked if she’s interested in doing more dubbing projects, the mother of two answered, “as long as there’s an offer, there must be a way for [me to] learn. I want to try."
The Indonesian-dubbed version of Jurassic World is slated to air on July 6 on HBO and HBO HD. In addition to Indy and Ben, the film will also feature other talents including Derby Romero (Gray), Mike Lewis (Zach), Imam Darto (Hoskins and Lowery), Hengki Kurniawan (Masrani and Barry) and Fla Priscilla (Karen and Vivian).
