ollowing the release of Gboard, Google's keyboard for iPhone devices, in May, the tech company has launched a similar product for Android users through its latest update, Google Keyboard 6.0.
In addition to the new name, the keyboard now comes with more diverse features, which include a shortcut to the search bar through the "G" button. This button is optional, but users can easily activate it, according to kompas.com, and it will allow them to search for anything while chatting with friends, sending emails or writing down notes without having to go back and forth from the search browser to the app.

Now supporting three languages for word preferences, the Android keyboard also features an additional toolbar to access themes, settings and one-handed mode, emoji search and gesture typing (now known as glide typing).
The update will be released gradually, thus users in some countries may have to wait a bit to give it a try. But those who simply cannot wait, and already have an Android 4.2 or newer operating system, can choose to download the APK version. (fmn/kes)
