hose who grew up in the 90s may remember a scene from teen drama Clueless, when the main character, Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone), uses a computer program to mix and match her attire.
Girls who dream of being like Horowitz may rejoice, as local fashion app Yuna recently introduced a fashion matching feature powered by artificial intelligence.
A post shared by YUNA (@yunaandco) on
Created in October 2016, Yuna is said to learn about the user’s fashion styles and preferences through a chat bot, allowing the system to find the most suitable attire for the user.
Yuna & Co. CEO Winzendy Tedja said in a press release, “At Yuna, we believe that fashion is supposed to be fun, easy and free for women to explore and experiment at any time. We envision Yuna to empower women through fashion.”

Available on iOS and Android, there are 32 brands and more than 50,000 stock keeping units (SKU) in Yuna’s database, giving users millions of possible matches.
Furthermore, the app allows users to purchase the matching items.
Winzendy added that the more people used the platform, the smarter and more intuitive its AI would be, allowing the system to accurately match styles according to the user’s preferences. (asw)
