nce again, the weekend comes with festivities in Jakarta. May 5 is a date to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory at the Battle of Puebla. The annual celebration usually includes parades, food, music and dancing. In the United States, the date is associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture.
For a Saturday full of merriment, why not head to the following places in Jakarta for the Cinco de Mayo feel?
Fat Shogun
There are significant Latin American influences in the dishes of Japanese fusion restaurant Fat Shogun. Beyond serving just fusion food, the restaurant also fulfills its patrons’ entertainment needs.
Cinco de Mayo is something Fat Shogun will not miss, as it will celebrate the occasion with its Jello de Mayo event. Live music by WTVR and DJ Demmy will bring extra energy to the night.

A tapas bar popular for its lively night scene, Basque is slated to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Monkey Business.

Hacienda Mexican Bar & Grill
This Saturday is likely to be colorful at this Mexican bar and grill. All you can drink margaritas, sangria and beer will be available, along with a taco bar from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, live music, costumes and a beginners Salsa competition will add to the cheerfulness of the scene.
