As reported by kompas.com, Go-Viet has operated since July as part of a trial phase using a beta version of the app.
Other than Vietnam, the company is also expanding its business to Thailand using the brand name Get.
Go-Jek founder and CEO Nadiem Makarim said in June that the company was confident the local teams would be able to fulfill public demand.
"We believe that each local team has the knowledge and expertise to ensure the success of this business in Vietnam and Thailand," he said.
Like Go-Jek, Go-Viet and Get will offer online transportation and logistics services. In the future, they will also accommodate Go-Jek's other popular services, namely food delivery and electronic payments. (saz/kes)
