ollywood movie producer and director JJ Abrams has launched Loud Robot, an indie record label specializing in placing original music for movies, television series and video games produced by his production house Bad Robot.

Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the news, said the label would focus on short-term collaborations to release original music, finding both emerging and established artists through traditional A&R methods.

In establishing the company, Abrams partnered with Capital Music Group, which will provide funding for the new venture and will provide support in the form of its extensive resources and access to its global distribution platform.

In June, Abrams' company also launched Bad Robot Games, a gaming arm set up in partnership with China's Tencent and has Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment attached as a minority investor.
