A pair of limited edition silver Air Jordan 1's are up for auction at Heritage Auctions.
Air Jordan is a brand of basketball shoes produced by Nike, created for retired professional basketball player Michael Jordan.
The limited edition shoes were created in 1995 by Juanita Jordan, a former model and then-wife of Michael Jordan, to mark the legendary athlete's 32nd birthday.
According to Heritage Auctions, there are only 10 pairs of silver-cast Air Jordan in the world. The basketball player kept two, while the manufacturer kept one. As for the rest, the sneakers were sold at different charity events.

After the shoes were produced in Israel, the cast was reportedly destroyed, making it impossible to reproduce the sneakers.
“We believe this to be either the first or second of its kind ever to see the light of the collecting day,” writes the auction house, mentioning that the other versions have been displayed at Michael Jordan's Restaurant in Chicago, the Chicago Science Museum and in the clubhouse of Jordan's hometown golf course in North Carolina.
The silver Air Jordan 1 is estimated to be worth $50,000. Proxy biding is set to end on Oct. 18, while the auction will be held on Oct. 18-19. (jes/wng)
