Jazz Gunung 2019 will feature legendary Indonesian jazz musicians, including Idang Rasjidi and Candra Darusman.
utdoor music festival Jazz Gunung 2019 will grace the stages of East Java’s Mount Bromo on July 26 and 27 and Mount Ijen on Sept. 21.
The initiator of the event, musician Djaduk Ferianto, said the festival would feature a more diverse lineup than the previous editions.
"There will be blues, fusion, ethnic, Malay jazz and a little pop," Djaduk said in a press conference recently, as reported by tempo.co.
The performers, according to Djaduk, were quite varied and included legendary Indonesian jazz musicians such as Idang Rasjidi and Candra Darusman.
"These are great musicians who rarely play in public," said Djaduk Ferianto. "The festival will be interesting as it features musicians for the older as well as younger generations."

Themed “Jazz Bersaksi Untuk Ibu Pertiwi” (A Testimony of Jazz to the Motherland), the festival refers to Indonesia’s diversity. Djaduk said the theme was chosen in the hope to reunite the nation after the polarizing election in April. "Through jazz, we are reunited," he said.

The lineup includes Tompi, Dust, Yuri Mahatma Quartet, Gugun Blues Shelter, Jazz Malang Community, Idang Rasjidi, Didi Kempot and Ricad Hutapea. Ticket prices start from Rp 450,000 (US$31.84).
