View all search resultsSpotify has launched the RADAR Indonesia playlist that allows users to discover music from emerging Indonesian artists.
usic streaming giant Spotify has launched a playlist of 14 tracks from Indonesian emerging musicians and singers from various genres.
Singer-songwriter Mawar De Jongh, singer Mahen, surf-rock band The Panturas, singer Monica Karina and pop duo Langit Sore are among the names featured on the RADAR Indonesia playlist.
Mawar, whose single "Lebih dari Egoku" has been streamed more than 22 million times on Spotify, said she was honored to be part of RADAR Indonesia.
“As a new artist, it can be difficult to gain exposure,” Mawar said in a statement. “However, with a program like RADAR, there are more opportunities, and I’m more confident about promoting my music to a wider audience.”

Boon Ken Wong of Spotify said the playlist combined the streaming platform’s editorial and marketing with talented artists in Asia.
“The RADAR Indonesia playlist features some of the most interesting talent currently coming out of Indonesia – a treasure trove of emerging sounds where home-grown talent is in abundance,” Wong said.
RADAR Indonesia is part of Spotify’s RADAR, an international program that highlights emerging artists. Set to allow users to discover more works from such artists, RADAR is available in 20 countries, including in Indonesia, United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa and Japan (locally named Early Noise).
Artists from other countries featured on the program include Japanese singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama, British music group Young T + Bugsey and South African singer Elaine. (wir/wng)
