igital payment service OVO can now be used to purchase outfits, accessories and other products from online fashion platform Zalora.

To use the payment system, people should ensure that they have registered the same phone number on both apps. They can select OVO on the checkout page of Zalora’s website and app.

To commemorate their collaboration, OVO and Zalora are holding a sale until Nov. 30 with discounts of up to 30 percent and a minimum transaction of Rp 350,000 using OVO. To join, shoppers can use the OVOZLR voucher code.

“We hope this collaboration will encourage our customers to shop, so we can give them a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience in purchasing fashion, beauty and lifestyle needs,” said Zalora associate marketing director Bimo Darmoyo in a statement.

OVO corporate communications head Harumi Supit said the company had seen an increase in transactions and a shift in sales to the digital sphere during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in e-commerce. “Our Total Payments Value [TPV] in e-commerce grew 110 percent from March to June,” said Harumi. “We believe that our strategic collaborations with various e-commerce partners – one of them Zalora – can help accelerate the national economic recovery and continue supporting the transition from offline to online transactions.”

OVO is available in more than 405 cities and districts in Indonesia. In 2019, the payment service became one of the country’s start-up unicorns. (wir/wng)
