ENDARI: Actor Krisna Mukti, accused of receiving stolen goods, faced trial at the Kendari District Court in Southeast Sulawesi on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Yafii, who read out his indictment, said Krisna had collaborated with another suspect, Yoyon Rasmano Suryo Prabowo, a former branch manager of PT Lumbung Buana Seluler in Kendari, to embezzle company funds worth Rp 1.6 billion (about US$150,000). The case was exposed after company commissioner Heri reported it to the police and media last year.
Krisna is believed to have pocketed Rp 320 million of the stolen funds.
This was proven from the gradual transfer of funds to Krisna's bank account at a number of banks, including consignment receipts addressed to Krisna from Yoyon.
Prosecutor Yafii accused Krisna of intentionally keeping the embezzled funds from Yoyon to enrich himself.
Yoyon was previously sentenced to four years in prison by the same court and is currently being detained at Kendari city prison.
