AKARTA: The Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), Indonesia’s largest container terminal, has announced that there will be no further delays in the container examination line at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, in the coming days.
“All operational activities conducted by JICT and PT Graha Segara have returned to normal, as have
all loading and unloading activities on the west and north piers,” JICT president director Helman Sembiring told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
JICT activities slowed down two weeks ago due to a labor strike, resulting in more than 1,000 containers piling up in the examination line managed by JICT and its partner Graha Segara.
Tanjung Priok Port accounts for more than 60 percent of import and export flows in the country, 60 percent of which passes through the two JICT terminals. — JP
