OGOR: More students on Thursday took to the streets of Bogor to stage a protest against the city’s inaction in dealing with multiple urban problems.

Dozens of student members of the Indonesian Association of Muslim Students decried the Bogor municipal administration for not taking action to clean up street vendors, maintain
cleanliness, reduce poverty and provide credible public transportation.

“There has been no progress on these issues since 2004,” protester coordinator Rosidi said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Some of the protesters tried to break into the mayor’s office but were prevented from doing so by public order officers and police personnel.

Earlier this week, groups of students staged a protest to condemn mayor Diani Budianto’s decision to take a teenager as his fourth wife. — JP
