AKARTA: Jakarta State University (UNJ) in cooperation with the Jakarta Disaster Management Agency and Fire Brigade is offering a new undergraduate program in fire protection and safety engineering, the first of its kind for Indonesia, the university says.
“We hope we can get more potential staff through this program. There has always been a high demand for a program of this kind, and whoever graduates from it is expected to be able to provide companies with a better safety management system,” Jakarta Disaster Management and Fire Brigade chief Paiman Napitupulu said Friday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
To date, he added, 35 students had registered for the program. Most of the students were applying through the state university registration program while six were sent by their employers.
