ct. 29 is World Internet Day, marking the first time the Internet was used to send a message electronically back in 1969. The system crashed half way through.
Today, the World Wide Web has transformed the way people live, work and play. It even altered the pace of popular culture. It made distances less daunting, made information instantly accessible and revolutionized the way people communicate with one another.
The Internet has changed the world. Skeptics may ask whether it’s for the better, because in this imperfect world, those who are on the other side of the fence may find it an effective tool to rake in profits by cheating others. It can also be used to spread lies and incite conflict.
But there’s nothing stopping technology from forming the core of our lives. Just like what Bill Gates said, “The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.”
