AKARTA: A member of the House of Representatives Commission X, Rohmani, says that by issuing a joint ministerial decree on teachers’ governance, the government has shown that it has missed the core problem facing national education.
“The decree will result in nothing, as other joint ministerial decrees do. The government should have made a greater effort to improve teachers’ governance by guaranteeing a good recruitment process, training, equal distribution and welfare,” she said as quoted by kompas.com.
A joint ministerial decree signed recently by the Education and Culture Minister, Administrative Reforms Minister, Home Minister, Finance Minister, and Religious Affairs Minister, stipulates steps to improve education across the country. It also declares that the central government is responsible for the distribution of teachers throughout the nation.
