Transjakarta probes passenger scuffle

AKARTA: The Transjakarta bus rapid transit Management Authority (BLU) said on Monday that it had launched an investigation into an incident in which a bus attendant engaged in a scuffle with a passenger over the weekend.

BLU assistant operational manager for operational Bano Yogaswara said the management was questioning Hari Maulana, who allegedly attacked a passenger.

“We have yet to finish questioning him. So far, we know that it was the passenger who provoked the attack,” Bano said.

Busway passenger Yohanes Sulung, 27, filed a report with the West Jakarta Police in which he said he was attacked verbally and physically on a bus in Permata Hijau on Saturday night.

Sulung admitted that he pushed the attendant first, but said that the attendant bit his thumb.
