ENPASAR: Two alleged drug dealers arrested recently by Denpasar Police claim that they got their supplies from an inmate at Kerobokan prison, another slap in the face for the correctional facility that has recently been plagued by violence and riots.
The dealers were identified as Wiwit Riyanto, 32, and Made Yuli Arimbawa, 22. They were arrested at separate places on Friday, Feb. 24. The police announced the arrests on Thursday.
From Wiwit, the police seized 0.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine and from Arimbawa 3.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The illegal drug commands a street price of Rp. 1.2 million (US$130) per gram.
The suspects claimed that an inmate, identified only as ST, had been supplying them with the drugs since they started their drug-dealing career some four months ago. ST would text them the location of the drugs and they would transfer the revenue to the inmate’s bank account.
The police have yet to interrogate ST.
“We are still developing the case,” narcotic detective first inspector Arya Agung said.
