AKARTA: Singer Dewi Gita has been named the ambassador for the 2012 Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF).
The 41-year-old woman will represent the biennial festival of Indonesian contemporary dance that will be held from June 1 to 9.
“This festival has been going on for 20 years. I want to get youth involved to know more about IDF,” she said as quoted by kapanlagi.com on Thursday.
Dewi was known as a dancer before becoming a singer. The wife of musician Armand Maulana said she started studying dance at the age of nine and even majored in Indonesian dance in college.
